Jeffery William Lista, 76, of Spring Hill, FL, formerly of St. Petersburg, passed away on September 6, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, FL, of heart failure. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, and later graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Marketing. Jeff worked for Acosta Sales for 38 years and was also an entrepreneur, starting his own business in Wargaming. He built a life filled with love and adventure.
He is survived by his loving family—wife, Gail; brother, Carmen; daughters, Kara and Jenna, and their husbands, Thom and Todd. Jeff was a proud grandfather to Alyssa and Alden, who brought great joy to his life.
Jeff was a wargamer and started this business over 40 years ago. He dedicated considerable time, love, effort and to this sport he loved.
A personal note:
I worked with Jeff in the food industry for many years. He loved his job working for Acosta Sales. He always handled things with integrity and with the customer's interest in mind. Jeff approached me over 20 years ago to build him a website for metal bases he sells for Wargaming. His business was managed through mail order, phone order and Wargaming shows. Albeit I had no knowledge of Wargaming, I told him I'd be glad to help. We started working together and became closer friends through this. He loved Wargaming and all it brings.
With his passing his family wanted to keep the business going in his memory. This is our plan. I appreciate everyone of you, his customers, fellow wargamers and friends. We will do our best to make Jeff's family proud as well as Jeff if he were here.
Please continue to pray for his family! Next man up!
Good gaming, John
